Our flights last between one and one and a half hours. We use balloons that can carry 6 to 12 passengers; however, to ensure a more intimate experience, we use multiple balloons for larger groups.
The route depends on the wind and the takeoff site. From Puimoisson – Valensole Plateau, you’ll fly over lavender fields, aromatic herb plantations, and the iconic landscapes of Provence, with unobstructed views of the Verdon Regional Nature Park and the Alps. From Marcoux – Digne-les-Bains (UNESCO Geopark), you’ll fly over alpine valleys, ridges, and majestic peaks in a pristine natural setting. Each flight naturally follows the wind, offering an authentic and unforgettable experience in the heart of the most beautiful landscapes of Provence and the Alps.
Yes, we fly only in the morning at sunrise to take advantage of the best weather conditions and winds of less than 20 km/h at ground level.
Be sure to wear season-appropriate clothing, an outfit comfortable enough to step over the basket, sturdy shoes, a hat, and a light jacket for the time before the flight. Opt for cotton clothing if possible.
You must be at least 6 years old and able to stand for the duration of the flight. Please note that this activity can be physically demanding and requires good physical condition. You must be able to board our gondolas without assistance, stand for one to two hours, and maintain a suitable position for landing in windy conditions. You must be able to hold on firmly to the handles provided on board, with your legs bent, leaning against the gondola for several minutes. Pregnant women are not permitted to board, and we ask that you inform us if you wear prosthetics (hips, knees) or have any other physical conditions. The pilot may decide to refuse boarding if they determine that your physical condition does not allow for a safe flight. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Every season has its own charm: winter’s deep, clear skies offer spectacular views; spring brings blooming landscapes; summer features endless fields of lavender; and fall offers colorful scenery.
We always check in the day before the flight to confirm our plans and avoid any unnecessary travel in case the weather is unfavorable; if that’s the case, we’ll work together to reschedule. Please don’t set out until the flight has been confirmed.
Of course, the hot air balloon’s mobility gives you complete freedom and plenty of time to take stunning photos from a truly unique vantage point. Although we have never had any incidents to report, please be aware that you are solely responsible for any equipment you bring along.
